The 2024 holiday season is fast approaching, and Cross County Center, an iconic Yonkers destination for holiday shopping and entertainment for the past 70 years, is checking its list—twice! Family-friendly events, extended shopping hours, a new Holiday Pop-Up Market, and other festivities will launch on November 15, just in time for the holidays!
Cross County Center is encouraging shoppers to experience the holidays in person and early this season at its popular outdoor shopping center. We expect holiday shopping to be busier than ever this year, with a high demand for exchanging gifts and experiences, so we encourage everyone to shop in person and early to enjoy the best deals!
With its outdoor setting, free up-close parking, and family-friendly amenities, Cross County Center is a one-stop destination for holiday shopping, dining, and entertainment. This season, Cross County Center offers a lineup of new and cherished holiday events, including:
Holiday Tree Lighting: Friday, November 15, 6-8pm
Cross County Center will deliver a real NYC Christmas experience right in the heart of Yonkers with the lighting of Westchester’s largest holiday tree! Standing over 40 feet tall, the tree is decorated with over 20,000 LED lights (about 2 miles of strands!) that shoppers can walk through. The tree lighting event includes festive live musical and dance performances, a pop-up ice skating rink with special characters, strolling entertainers, and a FREE electronic train ride.
Santa Photos: November 14 – December 24
Capture a magical holiday photo inside Santa’s cozy holiday home! The Santa House, located near the holiday tree by Gap, offers a warm backdrop perfect for family photos. Special sessions are available for PET PHOTOS and SENSORY PHOTO sessions. Reservations are recommended and can be made HERE.
Holiday Food Truck Market and Igloo Seating: November 15 – January 5
Shoppers can enjoy delicious treats from Westchester’s best food trucks, parked on The Green in the center of the mall. The new food truck lineup includes Ray’s Empanadas, Tipsy Taco Truck, YumBro, and Brothers Fish and Chips. For those wanting to dine in style, cozy pop-up igloos with festive decor will be available throughout the center on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pop-Up Holiday Ice Skating Rink: November 14 – January 5
Cross County Center’s pop-up ice skating rink, located in the center, is perfect for young and first-time skaters. The synthetic rink glides slower than real ice, offering a safe skating experience. Admission is $12 per person (ages 5 and up) and includes skate rentals for a one-hour session. Character and theme skating nights will be hosted throughout the season. Private rentals are available for parties or gatherings.
